about the project

Painting Main seeks to celebrate small businesses not only as providers of much-needed services, but also as creators of essential thirdspaces where community love, cultural exchange, and precious memories are born. All of these postcard prints feature handpainted watercolor illustrations of beloved small businesses that call Pittsburgh home.

Whether you buy a postcard to beautify your home or mail it to a physically distant loved one, we hope that these postcards will evoke memories of pre-COVID-19 social gatherings and bring some hope till the next time we can gather.

Hello! I’m Sophia Fang. I’m an interdisciplinary dabbler and watercolor artist who traded the West Coast for the City of Bridges. Passionate about empowering local entrepreneurs and creators, I am currently the Head of Marketing at Honeycomb Credit, a Board Member at Prototype PGH, and a Venture For America Fellow.
