Beyond Conflict

edtech course design, nonprofit consulting

prototyping social conflict courses on an online platform

Beyond Conflict is an international nonprofit organization with more than 25 years of experience in conflict resolution, diplomacy, and reconciliation. The organization was interested in teaching its renowned Neuroscience & Social Conflict classes in an online setting.

This feature brief imagines a month-long online training course on implicit bias and conflict resolution via NovoEd's collaborative learning platform.

Problem

The CEO of NovoEd was meeting in two days with Beyond Conflict, a nonprofit organization. He needed content to help visualize the potentials of a strategic partnership between Beyond Conflict and NovoEd.

Goal

Ideate and design a feature brief visualizing the structure of a potential online training course, NovoEd's key platform features, and Beyond Conflict's history—with a two-day deadline.

Process

  1. Research Beyond Conflict's mission, values, history, previous courses, and customer needs.

  2. Find alignments between customer needs and specific features on the NovoEd learning platform.

  3. Ideate and write course content, emphasizing the human-centered impact of such courses.

  4. Design the first draft of the feature brief.

  5. Iterate content and design of feature brief. Consult with co-workers in marketing, sales, customer success, and product on best practices.

Result

The representatives from Beyond Conflict were thrilled to review the feature brief. It not only helped to better visualize the structure of online programs on NovoEd, but also increased the trust in the partnership between these two organizations.
